With darker nights and more twinkly lights – it is party season. If you have followed me on Instagram since the summer, you will know I am a dress obsessed person. There is no better time of the year for me than the festive season when it comes to dresses as it means SPARKLES. Although I love a floral summer dress, nothing will beat the luxe looks you can create in winter with layers of velvet, satin and glitter. This November I have been actively working with multiple brands to create some party looks for all ranges of occasions and I thought I would do a round-up blog post for these. Notice I have titled this the November addition as I am pretty certain there will also be a December version as my love of super extra dresses and glam will continue for at least another month (or forever).
Boohoo
When it comes to glam party dresses boohoo know what they are doing this Christmas. The ALL THAT GLITTERS collection has been out for a couple of weeks now with lots of pieces already sold out, and I can see why. They have a range of super stylish, glam and VERY sparkly looks at a super affordable price. I have been lucky to be collaborating with boohoo over the last few months and that means I tried out a few of their party looks from this new collection. Although I haven’t had a chance to do photoshoots in all of the looks yet, I did make a IGTV showing my favourite boohoo party looks, which you can follow this link to watch:
Click to watch my boohoo party lookbook IGTV below, which styles all the boohoo dresses linked in this post.
Wine coloured velvet tuxedo dress (£35): I thought this was a risky choice as it was so bold when I originally ordered this, but I am in LOVE. I wore this to the Landmark Hotel and felt incredible as it is such a statement. The heavy velvet material gives it an expensive feeling and look, as well as the padded balloon sleeves adding to the tailored look. The cut of the dress is also incredibly flattering as it is fitted at the waist and also the neckline is just the right level of low not to show too much cleavage. OBSESSED!
Silver sparkle blazer dress (£35): Yes I am kind of obsessed with tux or blazer dresses this month as I think they look so stylish and like girl boss vibes right? This jacket dress is so glittery it catches the light beautifully and also importantly doesn’t put glitter everywhere which you might expect. I wore this to an event recently and loved it, I also think this would be amazing with a super
White extreme ruffle dress (£25): What a statement dress this is. This is the one to save for the most extra and glam event you have planned. My friend described it as a dove looking dress when I showed her pictures of it and what a good description that is. You will feel like you are out of swan lake wearing this.
Pink co-ord (Top: £20 and skirt: £15): I haven’t done a shoot in this outfit yet (but it is in my IGTV) as I am saving it for an event but basically you will feel like a barbie or a princess or both. The sleeves are just incredible.
Sequin and feather dress (£40): A perfect dress for a more bar/club vibe and is going to be one of my
SilkFred
When it came to my silkfred choices, I went for full sequins. When I placed this order it was raining and dull outside so instantly ordering two of the most shiny dresses I could find was required to brighten my day.
Fifi sequin dress by Pretty Lavish (£72): THIS DRESS. If you have seen my spam of this dress on my Instagram you will have realised how much I love it. I have even had a lot of comments from people saying they have also bought it. Apart from it being full sequin being the main attraction for me, it also is useful as it can be worn two ways. It comes with a belt to cinch it in at the waist and tie in a big festive bow or alternatively you can wear it as a shift dress without the belt. Originally, I loved it with the belt as I prefer more fitted clothes however as I was shooting in it I found that the shift dress look almost made it look more chic and I loved it. My favourite sequin dress I have ever owned (and trust me, that is saying something).
Rose gold dress by John Zack (£69): This dress is more of a sexy dress with the low plunge neckline, leg slit, and tight fit. I also think this will be the dress I wear to my university Christmas ball this year (although I have so many favourites it is going to be hard to choose). The copper colour is a lovely twist on the typical silver sequins although it isn’t really a sequin material. The best way I could describe the material or texture of the dress is like a disco ball with pieces of
In The Style
When it comes to In The Style you might have already guess I will be talking about the Lorna Luxe collection. This collection never fails to disappoint and when it comes to classy and sophisticated party dresses this is the collection to check out. I also saw that there is a new formal range she is releasing on December 2ndwhich will be even more amazing. Most of the clothes I have from this range are more on the daytime side however I also own the ULTIMATE old school glam dress.
Atonement emerald dress (£50): This is such a Christmas ball dress with the gorgeous green satin and the open back with a large bow tie at the back of the neck. I am utterly obsessed. When I posted this on my story straight after shooting it I had so many questions about it as so many people wanted to buy it for their ball. It is utterly glam.
Lily Lulu
Lily LuLu provide more of my party or club looks in my opinion. I have had many clothes from them but there was so many choices for party dresses as another brand to look at if you are looking for sequin dresses.
Star sequin dress (£53): Although this would also work for festive parties, to me this screams New Year Eve. This is almost certainly going to be my NYE dress as it is the ultimate star and celebration dress whilst not being overly formal (just extra!).
Green polka dot dress (£35): What an amazing Christmas dress. This would make a super cute Christmas eve or day outfit. It reminds me of a Christmas elf and is adorable.
Pretty Darling
I’m back at it with the silver glitter tuxedo dresses. This one was actually my first of this style I received and is the one that got me hooked. This one from Pretty Darling has the glitterball effect, unlike the boohoo one with the glitter texture. This fits absolutely perfectly and will make you eye-catching at any party.
Silver sparkle dress (£52):
Chi chi London
When it comes to formal and evening dresses, the brand that always makes amazing dresses is Chi Chi London. I wrote a blog post back in the summer reviewing a few of their gorgeous dresses but I am back with two more to show you.
Sequin flower Santana dress (£90): This dress is such a great ball dress for Christmas. It is super sequin however is not in your face sparkly. The reason I love it so much is the fact that it is a more muted sequin shine compared to the other sparkly dresses that I have mentioned in this post. The flowers are also stunning and look super Christmassy like poinsettias. The train also adds a beautiful feature to give the dress a super luxe and formal look.
Amberly Dress (£90): One of my Instagram followers replied to one of my stories of this dress saying I looked like an old fashioned princess, and I thought that was an amazing way to describe this dress. It is a stunning structured dress giving it an expensive feel. It also has stunning gold details which catch the light and truly create the royalty vibe.
Forever Unique
My final dress is from Forever Unique who I hadn’t tried until this dress. I thought this dress looked just like a Christmas decoration or present with the stunning red glitter fabric and long drape detail on the side.
Red glitter dress (£220):
I hope you have found my party dress round-up helpful for this month and given you some inspiration. As we move into December I hope I will be able to make another one of these blog posts before Christmas/NYE. Let me know which is your favourite xoxo
*the items were kindly gifted for me to create this party lookbook by the brands, however as always all opinions are my own.
